6 Things You Should Know About the Code Plateau Programme

Code Plateau is an 8 months full-time Immersive Bootcamp designed for young people who want to kickstart their portfolio of real-life projects that utilize modern Technology stacks.

1. Code Plateau is in line with Plateau's goal of becoming #SiliconPlateau -  a thriving tech and entrepreneurial ecosystem outsourcing talents to international and national organizations and young people starting businesses and initiatives that address the issues we face in our communities.

2. The curriculum covers Software Development and Digital Skills - Software development covers both Mobile Application Development and Web Design and Development, while Digital Skills covers Digitial Marketing topics like SEO, Social Media Marketing (Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, YouTube, and LinkedIn), Email Marketing, and Web Design using Wordpress.

3. There would be job placement/internship opportunities - At the end of the Code Plateau Fellowship, fellows are expected to be able to build impressive, portfolio-ready projects that will demonstrate their ability to add value to their new job as software developers. There would be internship opportunities for successful individuals.

4. You don't have to be an IT professional to be part of this program- In line with the DG's belief that any individual passionate to learn and ready to work hard can succeed in the digital industry, PICTDA has made it quite easy for participants to be part of the Code Plateau program, you don't have to be an IT professional to be part of the Code Plateau programme, you just need to be open to learning, hardworking and know how to use a computer comfortably.

5. The programme kicks off in August - Code Plateau program would commence in August after a successful recruitment process that saw over 500 applications.

6. Timeline - The first half (3-months) of the fellowship based on the curriculum is described as “Floating Surface” because of how much information it packs. In the second half (3-Months) called “Diving Deep”, you use your new skills to build projects, while learning new technologies on the fly. By the end, you will be an autonomous engineer, capable of tackling unique unfamiliar problems and building complex applications. The last two months would be internship placements of fellows across tech companies within Nigeria.
