The first National Rural Technology Awareness Campaign in Nigeria Kicks off October 21st
"PICTDA on Wheels" the first National Rural Technology Awareness Campaign in Nigeria kicks off on the 21st of October in Wase Local government of Plateau State.
"PICTDA on Wheels" is an initiative of the Plateau State ICT Development Agency that aims to drive technology awareness in the rural communities across the 17 LGA's of Plateau State in order to expose more people to the power of technology and help each local government leverage technology to impact and empower citizens, improve governance and human capital development.
The Plateau State ICT Development Agency under the leadership of David Daser is focused on developing policies, standards, guidelines, frameworks, as well as capabilities, skillsets, and resources that will add strategic value and increase business development productivity within Plateau State and its government.
"PICTDA on Wheels" follows "Code Plateau" a program currently training over 252 youth in Plateau State on Web Development, App Development, Graphics Design, and Digital Marketing in other to position them for the jobs of the future.

PICTDA staff and voluntary tech enthusiasts would be on wheels for 34 days spending two days in each local government in an attempt to achieve 3 purposes:
- Reaching out to rural communities with Digital Skills.
- Sensitization on Government digital services and Plateau state's strive towards actualizing eGovernment.
- Attaining the 7th, 8th, and 9th Sustainable Development Goals.
PICTDA on Wheels is in line with the Rescue Administration Policy of Governor Simon Bako Lalong and seeks to achieve PICTDA's vision of making Plateau State among the best 3 ICT hubs in West Africa by 2025.
